The glass lid on this saucepan has a metal handle that conducts heat. You will need an oven mitt or such to pull off the lid to stir, etc.

This is very bad design. I use lids from other pans, but that is not what I paid for.

The handle of the pan itself, however, does not conduct heat.

  3. It’s also sitting in a landfill somewhere due to my mother having incinerated it on her stovetop. I’ll stick with Ikea where I can get 3 different sized pots bundled for $10 bucks and have enough left over to buy some spoons.

I generally love caphalon butthe stainless steel collection is rather poor. Not easy to clean everything sticks to it.. Only good for liquids. And this pot is the smallest ever! and really heavy to lift!!

This little saucepan has many practical uses. I use it nearly everyday to make one or two servings of oatmeal and it is also great for whipping up marinades or sauces. It is a solid stainless-steel pan with a nice heavy bottom.

The handle stays relatively cool to the touch, though warmer by the base of the pan. The handle on the glass lid gets hot enough that you may need a potholder, but that doesn’t bother me.

After near daily use for months – and just as many trips through the dishwasher – this pan is in great shape. I have the larger saucepan also and it is holding up just as well. I’d recommend these pans to anyone!
